Responsible for managing the firms operations as well as financial relationships, deal structures, underwriting and negotiating new development projects, and strategic partnerships
Before joining Pollack Partners, Shores was a Partner and the Senior Development Officer at Urban Realty Partners, a multifamily development firm focused on the urban core of Atlanta. Steven managed the development activities for some 400 multifamily units representing approximately $200 million in value.
Previously, Shores was the Manager of the Denver development office for Hines Interests and was responsible for Hines’ activities in Colorado. He was also the Manager of Acquisitions for Hines’ Southwest region, responsible for sourcing and acquiring existing office assets in Houston, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix, Austin and other Southwestern cities. While at Hines, Shores was involved in more than $400 million of developments and transactions, including commercial office development and acquisitions, land development and multifamily residential projects. He also served on the advisory committee of the $800 million Hines U.S. Office Value Added Fund. In addition, he gained international experience structuring several residential and resort deals for Hines in Mexico.
Before joining Hines, Shores was a Senior Consultant with Andersen Consulting in its commercial banking mergers and acquisitions group in Charlotte, North Carolina.
He has an A.B. in Political Science from Davidson College in North Carolina and a M.B.A. in Real Estate and Finance from the Columbia Business School in New York.
Shores is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, the Real Estate Group of Atlanta and the National Multi-Housing Council.
